Farmblox Surpasses 1 Million Acres of Coverage as COP-R-LOCK Marks One Year With Zero Thefts at Protected Sites

One year after launching its successful copper theft detection system, Farmblox reports zero thefts at sites protected by COP-R-LOCK, despite multiple attempted thefts detected by the system

Santa Cruz, CA, October 26, 2026 — Farmblox today announced that its platform now covers nearly 1 million acres across the United States, marking a major milestone as the company expands beyond agriculture into solar energy, utilities, and other critical infrastructure. The announcement coincides with the one-year anniversary of COP-R-LOCK, Farmblox’s copper theft monitoring system, which has thwarted every detected theft attempt at its deployed sites, with not a single theft reported since launch.

Farmblox developed its technology to help agricultural operators monitor and protect valuable equipment across vast, remote properties. Its growing platform provides visibility into assets and conditions that are difficult to monitor manually, especially where internet access is unavailable.

COP-R-LOCK has been the driving factor behind Farmblox’s rapid growth. The system immediately detects tampering with copper wiring in irrigation pumps, solar panels, and other valuable equipment. The system responds by activating an on-site alarm and sending immediate alerts to operators through the Farmblox app. These real-time responses help scare off would-be thieves, and let operators respond quickly, rather than discovering missing wiring or damaged equipment days or weeks later. After a full year in action, COP-R-LOCK has prevented every single theft, despite numerous attempts. The results highlight the potential of real-time detection and active deterrence to protect remote infrastructure, where conventional security systems can be costly to deploy, difficult to manage in remote areas, and provide limited results.

“We had a problem with theft with copper wire. We found COP-R-LOCK and we installed it. We’re entirely happy with the system and how it’s helping us. Since we’ve installed the system, we haven’t had any problems,” explained Ray Yeung, a partner at Chan & Yeung Inc., a California farming operation growing pistachios and row crops and a Farmblox customer.

Copper theft can have consequences far beyond the value of stolen material. Damaged wiring can take irrigation pumps offline, leave crops without water, disrupt solar installations, and interrupt utility operations. Repairs, downtime, and service disruptions can compound the financial impact. By detecting tampering and alerting operators immediately, COP-R-LOCK is designed to help prevent these incidents from escalating into costly losses.

“Crossing one million acres of coverage shows how much demand there is for better ways to monitor, manage, and protect remote infrastructure,” said Nathan Rosenberg, CEO and Co-Founder of Farmblox. “COP-R-LOCK’s first year shows what happens when operators finally get a tool that helps them fight back against rising theft. Copper theft has been a global problem with no real answer. Now, operators can install simple equipment that immediately detects theft attempts, sets off an alarm, and stops it before equipment is lost or damaged.”

About Farmblox

Farmblox gives operators tools to build their own automation system, connecting in-field sensors and equipment to a simple app to fix problems and automate tasks. Reliably monitoring remote assets, operators can add a custom array of sensors – from soil moisture to weather to power outages – to monitor their specific crops and land. With everything visible in a simple app on a smartphone, tablet, or computer, operators can quickly identify operational issues like theft attempts, weather risks, or equipment failure and automatically trigger fixes to save resources and improve productivity.
